Systems Engineer: Cisco Collaboration/Unified Communications

Desired Location: Rochester, NY or Albany, NY (Telecommuting may be supported)

What we will expect you to do

The Cisco Collaboration/Unified Communications Systems Engineer position at Systems Management/Planning, Inc. requires that the individual have the ability to design, install, configure, manage and troubleshoot Unified Communications and Collaboration architectures. The individual will work closely with other members of the Engineering staff and has the ability to progress vertically within the Collaboration Practice.

What we are looking for in candidates applying for this job

• High school diploma. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent training in a related field.
• Self-starter with a focus on quality work, balanced with achieving results within acceptable timeframes.
• Able to act as the Technical Lead on both small and large projects.
• CCNP-Voice or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
• 1 or more years of Unified Communications/Cisco Voice experience required, related to Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity/Unity Connection Voice Mail, Unified Presence and Unified Contact Center Enterprise/Express. Knowledge of other Cisco UC applications a plus.
• Knowledge of both Cisco networks and QoS related to Cisco IPT.
• Knowledge of legacy PBX technologies.
• Solid understanding of current Operating Systems.
• Possesses a high degree of system level troubleshooting.
• Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced IT environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team environment. Willingness to assist and effectively communicate with individuals across the organization.
• Excellent customer facing skills, with the ability to articulate Cisco Collaboration/Unified Communications technology to all levels of the business.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

• Cisco Routers and Switches, Gateways and Gatekeepers
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager
• Cisco Unity, Unity Connection
• Cisco Unified Presence
• Cisco UCCE/UCCX, Contact Center Scripting
• Cisco MeetingPlace
• Cisco Tandberg / Video Endpoints
• Voice Signaling Technologies (especially SIP)
• Microsoft Active Directory / Exchange
• Knowledge of VMware and Cisco Unified Computing System a plus

Technical Certifications Desired

• CCNP-Voice
• CCNA-Voice
• CCNA
