Eric Rorapaugh, Owner & President
Eric founded SMP in 1997. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo. Drive, creativity, insight, intelligence, confidence, and generosity are the main characteristics that define the work Eric does for SMP. He encourages his employees to solve problems by stepping outside the box. He strongly promotes the culture of wellness he has established at SMP by participating in activities such as mountain biking, skiing, and multi-sport competitions. Eric’s approach to business is to put people first….employees, customers, and community members.
When he is not focusing on business strategy Eric enjoys spending time with his family, and being active. This year Eric will once again be competing in the Brock Yates One Lap of America (formerly known as the Cannonball Run) in support of the Norman Howard School as well as a 24-hour endurance off-road motorcycle race.
Peter Allen, Chief Operating Officer
A 30 year industry veteran, as Chief Operating Officer Peter leads the sales and services organization setting the strategic direction of the company. A proficient business transformation expert, under Peter’s leadership, SMP has enjoyed significant growth in revenue, clients serviced, as well as the number of expert IT professionals employed by SMP.
Prior to joining SMP, Peter held IT leadership roles with various organizations, including Director of IT at Nixon Peabody, LLP, a multinational law firm, VP of Sales at Structured Technologies and Channel Management at EMC. Peter began his career in the Information Technology industry in 1984 at Inacom Information Systems.
Dan Crist, Chief Financial Officer
Dan Crist has been a dedicated member of the SMP team since 2007. He is an alumnus of The College at Brockport State University of New York where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Accounting along with a minor in Mathematics. Prior to SMP, Dan practiced as a CPA and spent several years as a corporate controller in the construction industry. In 2016, Dan had the honor of being named as a finalist in the Rochester Business Journal’s Financial Executive of the Year competition.
Outside work Dan often vacations at Disney World with his family. Additionally, Dan is a regular volunteer as a USA Swimming referee and spends much of his time training for biking events.
Chris Fox, VP of Sales and Business Development
John Kittrell, VP of Enterprise Sales
Chris started at SMP as VP of Sales and Business Development in 2014, after holding sales positions at IPLogic, EMC and Xerox. Prior to entering the workforce, Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Political Science. Chris is passionate about connecting with people and helping them understand how technology can provide business positive economic outcomes.
Chris is an avid athlete; he even has a photo hanging in the Basketball Hall of Fame in Rochester’s Blue Cross Arena (being 6’9” helped with his basketball success). Chris continues his passion for basketball by coaching his son’s school team.
John Kittrell brings decades of customer understanding and knowledge of technology needs in enterprise organizations. Prior to joining the SMP team John held leadership positions at Cisco Systems and Sun Microsystems. His educational background includes a degree in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.
John is an avid golfer and spends many of his weekends golfing with his sons. When not at work, John also enjoys spending time with his family and friends while boating and participating in water sports.
Ron Nemeth, VP of Services
Marty Ezzo, VP of Managed Services
Ron joined SMP as Vice President of Services in 2011. Prior to SMP, Ron began work out of college at a US Army research laboratory as a Network Administrator, followed by ten years as a network and security consultant, before moving into project management and professional services management positions. Ron has a BS from Siena College and a Master’s in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
When Ron isn’t working he enjoys the outdoors year-round skiing, windsurfing, sailing, and playing/coaching soccer. He is most thankful for the meaningful relationships he has with the people in his life, both at work and at home.
Marty joined SMP in 2014 to run the Managed Services division. In this role, Marty is responsible for the development and execution of Managed Service offerings, ensuring that SMP is addressing the needs of its customers, and delivering business value. He has 25+ years of experience working in the Information Technology (IT) sector, and has held a wide range of positions in all aspects of managed services and IT from C-Level and executive management, to sales and operations.
Outside of a business environment Marty enjoys working outdoors, animals and would love to own a Vintage/Antiques shop in his retirement years.
