Is your company currently using Microsoft Teams for chat and Cisco for calling?
Cisco recently announced the ability support calling out of the Microsoft Teams client. Your experience ultimately would be identical to using your current Webex Calling and Jabber clients, but with the convenience of being able to dial right from the Microsoft Teams client. Oh, and one more thing – this feature does not require an upgrade to Microsoft E5/A5 licensing!
To start a call using Cisco via the Microsoft Teams soft client:
You can use the built-in dial pad to call any PSTN phone number your dial plan allows. SIP Calling is also supported if your environment supports it today.
To call directly, right on your chat thread you will be able to escalate the chat message to a call (audio and video is supported).
Lastly, if the contact you’re trying to reach is within your Azure directory, you can simply search for them and click to call.
For more information on how this integration works and can be configured for your organization, please contact your SMP Account Manager; if you don’t have an Account Manager simply contact SMP and we will get you connected the one of our calling /collaboration experts.
